Driving I

I practiced parking with b.chiang yesterday. And boy, was I nervous. After my car accident during the summer, I've had this lingering fear of sitting behind the steering wheel.

Fortunately, I hit no one and nothing while parking in the Lambeth parking lot. Thanks Brian for trusting me with your car.

UNC-Duke Dialectic

The word  "dialectic" was finally cleared up for me by Ning today on skype :)

My stay so far in Raleigh has been amazing so far. Christine's entire family has been really sweet :)

Along with Brian, Christine and her friends Josh and AJ, I got to see both UNC and Duke.

UNC is simply gorgeous. The campus felt peaceful and pleasant and is well-light and presented a positive and comfortable vibe. What I loved most about UNC was their street signs. They are HUGE!!! Being a person that hates walking around in glasses, I totally benefited.

After an amazing tour at UNC we headed off to Duke. After getting lost and experiencing AJ's crazy driving, we ended safely in one-piece at Duke. Unfortunately, it took the five of us eternity to figure out how to pay for parking.

Duke is breathtaking in terms of architecture. You could tell that it was a rich, cultured university. They had a huge forest and a garden that probably would be stunning if it's spring season. Duke feels like a theme park. Being secluded from the city of Durham (I don't know if that is a goo), it didn't have something like The Corner or Franklin Street. All the shops and restaurants were on grounds (campus?). They have ice-cream and water stands, something you'd find in Disney World or Six Flags.

Both of the schools are stunning, but by the end of the day I realized that my heart is truly with UVa. Despite the ugly chem building and the morbid physics building, UVa is awesome. Perhaps it's because I'm familiar with grounds, but I think it's more because I met some of the best people in my life (aka CCF).

The Tar Heels and  Blue Devils can fight all they want, it has nothing to do with me, I'm a Wahoo.
