My Friends and my Foot

Such an odd combination isn't it?

I wasn't exactly planning for an epic/horrifying bonding moment today. Instead, I was expecting a fulfillment due to church and an exceptionally productive day at Clark (the former occurred: God is amazing, even when pruning. the latter seems like it's about to plunder) I was not at all expecting my foot to be almost-entirely-eternally trapped in my boot, begging to the see the light of day. Nonetheless, it occurred: my boot ate my foot.

I had figured that the stuck zipper would not create much distress because I had ultimate belief that Christine and Annie knew they ways around zippers. However,  the entire chaotic/amusing moment was not due to their lack of ability, but rather the stubborn leather that refused to budge, move, and crawl out of the contraption.  We pulled, cut, oiled the metal beast and yet made no progress.  Thus, Christine *light-bulb moment* decided we should force my foot out of the boot before we attempted to fix the zipper. She pulled the shoe one way and I pulled my leg the other. (Thanks to this moment, most of Lambeth 466-4 will know what I sound like when I give birth) Unfortunately, it didn't work. Mel contemplated the idea of pouring oil down into the boot so my foot would slide out. Thank goodness that plan wasn't used.

So as I was worrying over whether or not my foot will ever重见天日,Christine borrows a pair of needlenose pliers and together will Mel released my foot from it's dark cave. At this moment I was praying, hoping my foot will come out of an undamaged boot and it did :)

It's amazing how friends can bond over a foot, my foot in particular. It's also quite amazing that this problem was solved by English and History majors. I guess we will have careers after all, despite what some people may think ;)
